Shower valve cartridge issues

After installing the cartridge into valve body, the hot water side of cartridge is working but when switching to cold water it only drips out of the shower head. Like there is blockage of cartridge openings NOT open to pass water through on cold side of valve. Please advise as to how this can be resolved. Thank you in advance!
